The National LGBT Tobacco Control Network

The National LGBT Tobacco Control Network serves as a clearinghouse for tobacco control & prevention advocates working on LGBT tobacco efforts.


The National LGBT Tobacco Control Network works to support the many local tobacco control advocates in helping to eliminate tobacco health disparities for all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

Priority Initiatives:

LGBT Youth
Goal: Preventing tobacco uptake in LGBT youth.  The youth initiative will involve gathering and disseminating lessons learned from existing youth tobacco groups and training new LGBT youth tobacco leaders.

LGBT Cessation
Goal: Promoting LGBT tobacco cessation which includes collaborations with the American Lung Association, quit lines, and LGBT medical providers to disseminate the latest cessation resources.

LGBT Clean Indoor Air
Goal: Engage for LGBTs in the CIA work being done locally.  This initiative will focus on connecting people to local resources, providing training and lessons learned from other localities.

LGBT State
Goal: Help more states incorporate LGBT health disparity work in to their current tobacco activities.  This initiative will involve assessing needs of the state tobacco directors, providing customized TA, and building the library of LGBT resources for states to access.
