Urban Fuel
The Clark County Health District (CCHD) located in Las Vegas Nevada serves approximately 70% of the state’s population. There are 159,228 (9.7%) young adults between 18-24 years of age living in Clark County. To reach this demographic, the Clark County Health District Tobacco Control Program (TCP) developed Urban Fuel, a social branding campaign targeting both college and non-college young adults. Commercial branding strategies were used to associate going to nightclubs and having fun with not smoking. The strategy directly counters the bar and club promotions of the tobacco industry.
