Cessation Programs

After completing a preliminary assessment and identifying available resources, you can put your plans into action. As mentioned in the Implementing Cessation section, there are many approaches to cessation, and your cessation program may include various services to facilitate and support community members to kick the habit, depending on the type of tobacco product used. Cessation programs commonly include one or more of the following approaches: community education, cessation counseling, access to pharmacological therapies, and referrals to quitlines. Cessation programs often benefit from tailored, culturally and community competent strategies.
